Baby news and Building updates
11/20/2009 10:49:47 AM
Hi everyone,
Sorry about the late news update, Satellite data problems ;) Sure, some would say.
We have 2 new additions to our family, our daughter Indriel Grace and Kassidy the Bull Arab the 4 legged one.
Lesley and I have also been flat out after the trip over to her home country Scotland, where we created Indriel Grace.
I've been working away, from demolition work to tree trimming around HV power lines, so construction on Treeverb has been slow. Anybody know the gold lotto numbers?
However we have almost finished the upstairs section the Master bed pavilion, looking very earthy modern (trying to upload pics but the satellite connection doesn't always work).Handmade bi fold doors and windows, wardrobes and Media centre/Office, leaf fans, lights, purple paint, big stereo etc.
At the moment we are adding to the original plan and have dug out all underneath this building. A new addition to our place, three more rooms underneath. A very funky bathroom, a laundry/storage room and a carport/kid's storage room. This involved a lot of digging with Theon's tractor and jack hammers, rocks are great! Then comes the retaining walls.
At treeverb we have finished the slab and half way through the plumbing rough in under the pavilion. We've built (Thanx Gerry) a set of semi spiral, external stone stairs with a rockery garden the foot bath is pending. Steel frame bracing and sheeting next (year)
Well better run heaps to do. More photos coming soon.
Love from Scott, Lesley Ann , Indriel Grace and Kassidy
From little things big things grow!

Well it has been a long time since a Treeverb update (something about the website not working... this is Bryce writing an update, Scott will be on here soon)
Scott and Leslie have welcomed a beautiful new baby girl into the world, Indriel!
There will be a pictures section up soon so you can all see her growing and become a little rainforest hippy like her Mum and Dad ;)
Hope you all like the new website, stay tuned for a heap of new photos and news updates from the Treeverb clan.
Cheers
Bryce

Building and Plumbing Approvals
5/17/2008 4:12:06 PM
I submitted my final structurally approved and plumbing plans to the Douglas shire council last Wednesday.
Thanks to Grant and Bec for spotting me the $1180 to get them in before Xmas (the money flow is slow sometimes).
A big thanks to Greg Skyring for your perfect work in meeting what I need and what the council needs. Couldn't have done it with out you!
Gantry
5/17/2008 4:12:04 PM
Well I picked up a 3.5m high gantry and a 3.5t block and tackle for $250, yes that's an amazing price!
I know you would have to see it to believe it, I’ve never realised how much it actually takes to do something when you are remote, and I’m sure not many ppl really will.
Hmm lucky me I’m 2 hrs away from a big town (Cairns) and not in Africa.
Well after plenty of lifting with sticks and supporting with ropes, Trav and I put it together (see the pic's in the development section) on Saturday arvo.
A big thanks to Merlin for lifting it up with logs and a jack so we were able to use the 350 in the landcruser to pull it up, once the feet hit the stakes in the ground.
I just have to ;) Enjoy!
Costing of building materals
5/17/2008 4:12:04 PM
Well here comes the time to do the costing and realize how deep I’m in ;) yay!!!!!
Will take a few days to even work out the material list....

49 timber slabs, 2m to 4m long for $1000
For u guys that don't know that is a great deal!
