After the cement is partially dry it will be scrubbed down with water and plastic brush to clean the granite. Better to get it right the first time, but any missed mortar can be taken off later with acid (not good for the forest though so get it right) wh

16ft 450mm pipe
Laying of the 450mm 16ft pipe.
1.1 ton resting on a 50mm bed of sand sloped gently to drain away.

I used that to make sure that water would never erode a space under neath the joint

Forming the ends
These ends will hold all the Gavel in place while driven over, very strong walls
Note only small (10mm to 40mm) gravel is actually touching the concrete pipe.
if it was large rocks been used as fill around it the can pierce the
